My Little Happiness 我的小确幸 Chapter 6.2

Chapter 6.2 - Cong Rong Likes Wen Shaoqing

They remained silent for a while. Wen Shaoqing looked at her and finished eating and asked, "Which hospital did you go to? I will see if there are friends there to take care of you."

"X Hospital." Cong Rong said but did not hear him reply for a long time. She looked up and said, "What's wrong?"

Wen Shaoqing replied slowly: "I'm from that hospital."

"...So coincidental?" Cong Rong swallowed, "I didn’t know which hospital you are in."

"I don't know which law firm you are in either," Wen Shaoqing looked at her. "It seems that we need to get a deeper understanding of each other."

Cong Rong took out a business card from her bag and handed it over, "If you have any legal questions, please contact me."

Wen Shaoqing heard this, whether it was intentionally or unintentionally, he also said, "now that you know which hospital I am in, you can call me if you have any problems."

Cong Rong frowned and looked at him. Cong Rong was aware that she was in Wen Shaoqing’s house and she ate the egg custard he made and she could only swallow the sentence “you have a problem, not me” back. It was especially uncomfortable to hold back.

Wen Shaoqing didn't give her any chance to fight back. He quickly tidied up the dinner table and brought out a glass of something, which smelled really good.

Cong Rong asked curiously: "What is this?"

"Passion fruit juice." Wen Shaoqing tested the temperature with his hands by the cup, and put two spoons of honey in. "Have you tried it before?"

Cong Rong narrowed her eyes and took a sip before answering: "This fruit has lost its original taste after being refrigerated for so long, it is better not to eat."

Wen Shaoqing glanced at her, "The mouth is pretty picky. Passion fruit’s flesh, with red dates, brewed in boiling water is good for cough and phlegm. It has anti-inflammatory and analgesic abilities."

Cong Rong recently tried a lot of home remedies for toothache, but nothing worked. She snorts, "You sure it will actually help?"

Wen Shaoqing was questioned but was not annoyed. Instead, he nodded and agreed, "well, you can treat it as your dessert."

Cong Rong was discouraged by his answer. She could not find a way to have a debate with him. After drinking most of the glass of water, she noticed that Rang Yi Rang staring at her, and its eyes were not friendly. Cong Rong asked, "Did I use its cup?"

Wen Shaoqing couldn't help laughing, coughed a little, and said, "No."

Cong Rong looked innocent, "Then why does it keep staring at me?"

Wen Shaoqing glanced at the clock on the wall, "maybe it is because you have delayed him from going out to play."

Cong Rong immediately stood up, "Then take him out to play, I'll go first." Then he went home with the bag.

Cong Rong left in a panic and ran back home. Rang Yi Rang waited by the door for Wen Shaoqing to take it out to play.

Wen Shaoqing sat on the sofa and didn't move. Rang Yi Rang froze, "I'm not bringing out today."

Rang Yi Rang barked a few times, seeming to ask why.

Wen Shaoqing looked at him, "In the future when she is here, don’t ask her to leave."

Rang Yi Rang barked again, then it slumped his ears down on the floor at the door and moved his tail boringly.

Wen Shaoqing looked at a corner of the table, his eyes sinking. The business card that I put there just disappeared, probably was taken away by someone who fled. He wondered if she was intentional or unintentional. Is she so afraid of him?

That night Cong Rong made a lot of dreams.

(In the dream)
Young in the dream, she took Zhong Zhen in the game, turned around and saw Wen Shaoqing sitting opposite her, Lin Chen led Wen Shaoqing to introduce him to her, this is my good brother for many years. Wen Shaoqing greeted her with a smile and Wen Shaoqing said, Cong Rong, I have seen you.

Then it was a hot afternoon. She was sitting in the old library with a sheet of paper in front of her. The paper neatly listed a mindmap. All the terms finally came to a conclusion.

She likes Wen Shaoqing.

This is a habit that she has always had after studying law in recent years. She draws conclusions from the evidence, with clear ideas and rigorous logic.

After writing that conclusion, the courageous woman raised her hand and shredded the overseas offer she'd got into pieces, got up and threw it into the trash can, and then returned to China without looking back.

That was the offer she received a few days ago. The law firm she had long admired, but after receiving the offer, her first reaction turned out to be that if she agreed, she would never see Wen Shaoqing again, at that time. She knew that her love for him would be a hindrance to her plans.

Later, the dream became that she was standing in front of her door about to open it. When she heard someone calling her, she turned around and suddenly Wen Shaoqing pounced on her. She suddenly awakened.
(End of dream)

Cong Rong sat up and wiped the sweat on her forehead, and touched her forehead to test her temperature at the same time. Fortunately, her fever is gone. She held her quilt to calm her breath and then got out of bed to find a book in the study. She turned a few pages and took out a piece of paper that had yellow spots on it already, with a few words clearly written at the bottom.

“Cong Rong likes Wen Shaoqing.”

When she returned to China, she was not sure if she would meet Wen Shaoqing again. She did not know whether Wen Shaoqing would return to China, or whether he would choose to settle in this city after returning to China, but she knew that if she did not return, she would probably never see him again.

When she first returned to China in the early spring of this year, she occasionally thought about what it would be like to meet again. After a long summer and a shorter fall, she already lost her hope. She didn't expect to meet him in the winter.

She didn't know why she dreamed about the past again, and it had clearly passed for so long. She hasn't dreamt about him for so long after returning to China. Why did she dream of meeting Wen Shaoqing again? Is it because this conclusion is still true?

Early in the morning, the poor Cong Rong quickly got up and fled from her house.
